Mast- & wind turbine health certificate


A mast- & wind turbine health certificate is a requirement in Sweden for all workers who are performing jobs at a height over 13 meters. It consists of a medical examination conducted according to the standards set out by the Swedish Work Environment Authority. Standard. AFS 2019:3 §§ 71-73. 

According to guidelines, this examination should be performed on a yearly basis. It is conducted by specially trained nurses and a doctor. The medical examination and exercise ECG are performed at the Visida clinics in northern Sweden in the town of Luleå.

Length of Medical examination: approx. 1..5 hours. Exercise ECG: approx. 1 hour.
Examination includes:
  • ECG
  • Lung examination
  • Weight, height, and waist girth
  • Blood pressure (orthostatic test) 
  • Blood tests: Hemoglobin and glucose 
  • Vision test
  • Medical examination/evaluation by doctor 
  • (Exercise ECG, interval based on age)* 
  • Certificate  
*Exercise ECG is performed at intervals based on age according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority recommendation.

  • First year if no previous examination has been performed.
  • Thereafter:
  • < 40 years of age: every fifth year
  • 40-49 years: every other year
  • > 50 years: yearly.


Drug tests may be added to the examination with an additional cost.
